COMBA IMBA Share the TrailMountain biking has grown and will continue to grow in Colorado. As population increases more trail users, from all disciplines, enjoy Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) parks and other local trails, it increases the opportunity for conflict. Most land managers and trail-user groups have come to acknowledge the legitimacy of responsible mountain biking on public lands.

COMBA has devloped relationships with many of the regional land managers including the USFS, NPS Rivers, Trail and Conservation Assistance Program, Denver Parks and Recreation, and the City of Lakewood.  Going forward we will seek to maintain and improve those relationships and look to establish new parternships as the opportunities arise.

COMBA parternered with the Colorado Mountain Club, American Whitewater, and the Access Fund to create Outdoor Alliance Colorado. Outdoor Alliance Colorado is a coalition of human-powered recreation groups working together to promote and protect the outdoor experience for us all.

COMBA has been able to leverage it's stragetic location in Colorado's capital Denver to influence the political climate for our sport.  We worked with State Senator Greg Brophy to submit the Colorado Mountain Bike Safety Act.  An Act to help address liability issues with private land owners in order to improve mountain bike access.  We will continue to look for opportunities to work with the Colorado legislative branch.  We have also advocated for Federal land protection, the preservation of RTP and GOCO funding, mountain bike access to public lands and National Scenic Trails.
